2018 LEGISLATIVE RECAP

Well, 2018 was an interesting year at the state capitol! With control of the legislature being split, as Republicans controlled the Senate and Democrats controlled the house, careful negotiation was key to getting any legislation passed this year. This turned out to be extremely beneficial to the CRA’s efforts to protect and advance the restaurant industry in Colorado. In our 2018 Legislative Recap, we describe many of the bills we worked on in 2018. It includes information on:

  • Auction Alcohol at Special Events
  • Transfer Alcohol on Surrendered License
  • Sale of 3.2 Beer
  • Local Minimum Wage
  • Homeless Bill of Rights/Right to Rest
  • Family and Medical Leave Insurance
  • Beef Country of Origin

If you would like to know more about what the CRA does at the capitol or if you would like to participate on the CRA’s legislative committee, please contact Nick Hoover at (303) 830-2972.

ASPIRING LEADERS, SIGN UP FOR THE COLORADO TOURISM LEADERSHIP JOURNEY

The Colorado Tourism Leadership Journey was created by our friends at the Colorado Tourism Office for aspiring leaders with a demonstrated commitment to a career in the tourism industry and a passion for sharing the Colorado experience.

This tuition-based, yearlong program is ideal for high-performing people seeking to advance their effectiveness as tourism leaders. For employers, it offers a cost-effective way to develop, reward and retain top talent. Under the purview of the Colorado Tourism Office and an appointed Leadership Committee, the program aims to strengthen Colorado’s competitive advantage through development of a stronger, more unified tourism industry that will be even better equipped to serve as one of the state’s leading economic drivers.
