ON THE FLY – SEPTEMBER EDITION

COMPLIANCE TIP - PCI STANDARDS NECESSARY TO REDUCE YOUR RISK

As mentioned in this month’s On the Fly, 54% of small businesses have been the victim of a cyber-attack - with the primary intent of stealing credit card data.  There are mandatory PCI Compliance standards for all entities that store, process and transmit cardholder data to ensure that credit card transactions are secure. To learn about these standards and to protect your business, check out the article on PCI Compliance on the CRA Blog. By having a proactive approach towards the security of cardholder data, merchants decrease the probability of any potential online theft, fraud and security breach, which in turn helps prevent your restaurant from undergoing financial loss in the long run.

GET THE RECOGNITION YOU DESERVE AND SUBMIT FOR THESE AWARDS

There are two important industry awards that are presented yearly by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.  Check out our website for information on how to submit your restaurant for either of these prestigious awards.

Restaurant Neighbor Award - the first, celebrates our industry’s unwavering commitment to communities in good times and bad and recognizes that we are often the first to reach out in times of need.  Every year, the restaurant neighbor award is given to three restaurants…a small business, a mid-size restaurant company and a large/national chain - each receive $5,000 to support a favorite charity or community project.

Faces of Diversity Award - The second, celebrates our varied cultures and backgrounds through the Faces of Diversity Award…honoring individuals in the restaurant industry who have realized the American Dream through hard work, determination and enterprise.

DINE OUT FOR NO KID HUNGRY

Dine Out for No Kid Hungry is a year-round, restaurant-led campaign to raise funds so every child gets every meal every day.
